Hi reptile fans,
I'm new here to Tribe--this is a very cool community of folks! I first joined to chat with folks that play the Didjeridoo as I do but then I discovered the Reptile Lovers Unite group and just had to say hello! I am a friend of the Reptile myself and welcome the chance to chat with like minded folks about these amazing creatures. I am also active in several Reptile conservation and research projects and I also host a reptile and amphibian identification website called "The Snakegame". Check out The Snakegame and my other reptile projects at www.geocities.com/thesolorover/snakegame
Take care and I look forward to chatting with you.
Steve

Re: Hello all and Wildlife Conservation Fundraiser
Thu, July 5, 2007 - 11:59 AMI'm sick of conservation, we need all the species in captivity where they are safe and conservable in the hobbyists hands.
Captive conservation is the only definite conservation. You can pay a buncha hippies to go out and protect a species in the wild,
but that only 'helps' it, they can still have an overrun of predators or humans and wipe everything out eventually.
Captive propagation is the best method of species preservation, plus you get to take care of them, rather than just sittin back, watchin
them on Discovery, and hope they make it.
Welcome :)
